Elder McKinnon was born to Mr. Albert McKinnon, (deceased) and Mrs. Novella McKinnon of Claxton, GA on August 12, 1966. He graduated from Claxton High School in 1984.  He couldn’t wait to get away from the life of sun up to sun down farming every day.  After high school, he moved to Atlanta, GA and began his medical career at Grady Memorial Hospital.  Elder McKinnon continued to grow in the medical field and graduated as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.  He has worked in the medical field for over 38 years and is currently in charge of the Respiratory Department at Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, GA.

Elder McKinnon was baptized in Jesus' Name and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost at Pentecostal Lighthouse Church, Huntsville, AL in September 1995, under the leadership of District Elder Johnny Burrell.  He is a licensed Elder of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc.  He has spread the gospel both nationally and internationally traveling as a military spouse for over 22 years.

Elder McKinnon, prior to pastoring Words of Life Ministries, was a member of Greater Apostolic Holy Temple, Hephzibah, GA, where Bishop Booker T. Hayes, Jr., is the Pastor.  Under Bishop Hayes leadership, Elder McKinnon served in many capacities, such as Bishop Hayes' Armor Bearer, Deacon, Adult Christian Education teacher, Altar worker, Ministry Tribal Leader, and the Media Ministry Leader.

Pastor McKinnon, expresses continuous special thanks to Bishop Booker T. Hayes, Jr., in his blessings, continuous mentorship and guidance in the pastorship of Words of Life Ministries of the Apostolic Faith, Inc.

Elder McKinnon is married to his high school sweetheart, of over 36 years, Evangelist Darlene L. McKinnon. Elder and Evangelist McKinnon have nurtured two beautiful children, Brittne D. Berry, of Marietta, GA and Desmond K. McKinnon, of  Kennesaw, GA. They have two handsome grandsons, Jayden T. and Malik A. Berry. He is a happy Father-in-law to the best son-in-law, Tyron Berry.
